Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani’s movie Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles, will be available to stream on ZEE5 from October 10, 2024. Vedaa is a story of a determined Dalit girl named Vedaa (played by Sharvari) and Major Abhimanyu (John Abraham), a court-martialed army officer. Together, they team up to combat corruption and challenge a powerful village chief, portrayed by Abhishek Banerjee.
The film also features Tamannaah Bhatia in a special appearance. With intense action sequences and social messages, the movie is a thought-provoking watch highlighting Vedaa’s journey to find her inner strength and fight for justice through martial arts and boxing.
Said to be inspired by true events, the film is written by Aseem Arrora and produced by Zee Studios, Umesh Kr Bansal, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and John Abraham, with co-production by Minnakshi Das.

The movie Vedaa was shot in locations such as Rajasthan, Srinagar, Pahalgam, and South Kashmir’s Ashmuqam area. John expressed his admiration for the natural beauty of Kashmir after concluding filming in the region. A video was released by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department on X in which John spoke about his experience in Kashmir wherein he called Ashmuqam as an absolutely fantastic place. The actor was wearing the traditional Kashmiri cloak pheran in the video. He said, “It is absolutely outstanding, where I am, in the outskirts of Anantnag. It is such a beautiful place, Kashmir.”
