You might have been dreaming about your ideal wedding for years, yet this could also be the case for your spouse. The perfect wedding involves a lot of compromise from either side and even more collaboration so that you can enjoy a day that suits both of you. However, if you’re struggling to agree on what you want your wedding to look like, here are some top tips to help you out.

    Try the Food Out

Fighting over the menu is a common issue when it comes to wedding planning, and the first step that you should take to try and solve this is to test different menus to see whether you can find one that both you and your partner are in love with.

If this isn’t possible, you should look around for a high-quality event catering company whose food is undeniably delicious and that provides a range of menus so that there’s something for everyone. This is even more important if you have children or people with allergens coming to your big day. Great wedding food can stop you from flagging and becoming hangry during your special moment.

    Go to a Wedding Fair

Sometimes, it’s hard to envision the possible options that you have for your wedding without seeing them laid out in front of you. While you might disagree on your very first ideas and vision for your wedding, a wedding fair can broaden the options that you have to choose from and allow you both to fall in love with specific décor, outfits, and even venues.

By attending a wedding fair, you’ll be able to speak to vendors directly about what you’re ideally looking for, and you’ll be able to imagine and fully immerse yourself in what your wedding could be like.

    Speak to a Wedding Planner

If you can’t agree and this is starting to fracture your relationship and even your desire to get married, then you should speak with a wedding planner. This experienced individual may be able to combine all your desires and visions to create a big day that has the personal touch for both of you. Not only this, but they might come up with ideas that you haven’t thought of, but will love.

If you and your partner are at loggerheads over your big day, you should ensure that you both attend these sessions and that you’re open and honest about the stage of planning that you’re at and your thoughts on their ideas. You might also get your family or friends involved to see what they think and to get another opinion.

Wedding planning can set the stage for the compromise and problem-solving that you’ll need over the course of your marriage. By simply sitting down together and discussing your wants and needs, as well as staying calm and open with each other, you should soon be able to create a wedding plan that you’re both happy with. In the end, one day of your life isn’t worth wrecking your relationship for—the marriage ahead is much more important.
