    Banyuwangi is one of the districts in East Java that has extraordinary natural wealth. An area that connects the islands of Java and Bali, Banyuwangi has many stunning beaches.

    Beach lovers should not miss a visit to various beaches in Banyuwangi, famous for being beautiful. The following are some beach attractions in Banyuwangi that are stunning and have become the most popular among tourists.

    • Red Island Beach

    Located in Sumberagung, Pesanggaran, Banyuwangi, Pulau Merah Beach is famous for its small hill. The hill is composed of reddish soil, that’s what makes it called Pantai Pulau Merah or Red Island Beach. You have to wait for the sea to recede if you want to visit this hill. In addition, here, there is also a temple that is commonly used for Hindu religious ceremonies.

    • Sukamade Beach

    Sukamade Beach is famous for its fauna tourism, such as various types of turtles. Because the location is close to the captivity, you can witness firsthand how turtles lay their eggs. In addition, you can also see turtles that are ready to be released into the open sea.

    • Wedi Ireng Beach

    Wedi Ireng Beach is a beach in Banyuwangi which is quite  difficult to access because of its remote location with a challenging route. The location is in Sumberagung Village, Pesanggaran, near the Red Island Beach area. Even though the access is tortuous, it is guaranteed that all your struggles are paid off when you arrive here. The combination of black and white sand is the main attraction.

    • Bama Beach

    Bama Beach is located within the Baluran National Park area. You have to cover a distance of about 8 kilometers before reaching the beach area. Because it is included in the Baluran National Park area, the Bama Beach area is a habitat for wild animals. This beach looks beautiful because mangroves surround it.

    • Boom Beach

    Unlike other beaches, Boom Beach is located in Mandar village which is not so remote. Therefore, access is also relatively easy. Formerly this place was a port in the Banyuwangi area that was used for transportation. From here, you can see the former storage warehouse and several fish auctions.

    • Syariah Beach

    • Lampon Beach

    Lampon Beach is located in Pesanggaran Village, Lampon, Pesanggaran. This place is usually used as a training ground by the Indonesian Navy because its location is close to the military headquarters. Here you will also find a cave left by the Japanese army.

    • Mustika Beach

    Pesanggaran is a coastal area of ​​Banyuwangi, so do not be surprised if there are many beaches. Pancer Beach borders located in the east and Pulau Merah Beach in the west. Mustika Beach is often visited to look for fish because the waves are relaxed.

    • Pancer Beach

    Located in Pesanggaran District, Pancer Beach has a stunning sunset view. You can also enjoy the beauty of the sea with its clear sky by taking a boat.

    • Plengkung Beach

    Plengkung beach is more popularly known as G-Land in Banyuwangi. This beach is perfect for surfers because it has the best waves. Plengkung Beach is also indeed renowned as the best surfing spot in Southeast Asia. A visit to Plengkung Beach is ideally done between April to October. G-Land offers quite large multi-layered waves. The height of the waves can be between 1-2 meters, sometimes even more than five meters. Although it is famous for its beaches for surfers, tourists can do other activities such as trekking through the bamboo forest.
