    What are HEIC images?

    HEIC is based on the High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) developed by the Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) as an improvement over the predominant JPG image format .MPEG has been claimed that like HEIC, HEIF images take up about half the storage space of JPGs of the same quality. Imagine this result multiplied by the billions of JPG images and the results would be truly amazing.

    So, while HEIC images have some important advantages, their main problem so far has been the lack of acceptance by popular software and operating systems. Even if you don’t feel it on iOS today, try to transfer HEIC image to Mac and you’ll find that using HEIC to the extent of JPG is quite problematic, to say the least: many apps won’t view or edit it, and many websites won’t accept it. 

    How to Convert HEIC to JPG with Miconv converter 

    The good news is that you don’t have to deal with
    complicated workflows to convert a batch of HEIC files to JPG ; Just make sure Miconv Converter is installed on Mac. Miconv Converter is a universal media converter for Mac.

    The app works with tons of photo, audio, and video formats, making the conversion of any file smooth and easy. How to convert HEIC to JPG in Miconv converter: 

    • Open Miconv converter. 
    • Drag and drop any number of HEIC images into the Miconv converter window. 
    • Press the “Start” button to convert to JPG.

    This is it. Select Reveal in Finder to access your JPG images. If you convert files regularly and want to speed up the process, use the Miconv converter presets. You can add your custom preset from the settings so the next time you add a specific file, the Miconv converter will understand what to convert it to. 

    Convert HEIC file to JPG with photos

    As the most popular application for viewing and editing photos among Mac users, Photos is probably where you interact with HEIC files most often. Fortunately, Photos offers you two ways to convert HEIC to JPG. When you have transferred some HEIC images from your iPhone to your photo library, you can just drag and drop them to your desktop or any other folder on Mac and they will be converted to JPG automatically. 

    Second, Photos gives you a lot of control over the export. Images, so
    can easily convert HEIC to JPG on export and set your exact settings for quality, color profile, etc.: 

    • Select HEIC images from your device or storage
    • On the menu bar, 
    • Click File Export Photos.
    • Select any appropriate options for the new JPG images.
    • Click Export.
