Several signs allude to the fact that it’s time to find the best assisted living facility for your loved one. We’ve listed signs that you can be on the lookout for or might have noticed before.

    1. Forgetting to Take Medication

The doctor prescribes the medication to improve a present condition or improve one that your loved one is experiencing. Forgetting to take your medicine every now and then isn’t a big deal.

If you notice that your loved one has trouble remembering to take their medication and aren’t taking it more often, this is one of the signs that you need to start searching for assisted living near me.

    2. Difficulty With Daily Activities

As people continue to age, they will need more assistance with activities of daily living that they didn’t need before. Activities of daily living include things like:

    • Brushing their teeth
    • Getting dressed
    • Attending doctors appointments
    • Bathing and grooming

Drastic changes in basic hygiene are a sign that your loved one forgets to do these daily activities or that they’re having trouble doing them on their own. In an assisted, living facility staff will be there around the clock to assist your family member with these tasks every day.

    3. Increase in Falls

When older people fall, it can cause injuries, such as a broken hip or muscle pain around the bruised area. Another issue that arises when they fall is them laying on the floor until help arrives.

Falls occur because there is a decrease in mobility as we continue to age. IN an assisted living facility, your loved one will be equipped with a way to call for help if they fall.

Those who are responding to the fall will take immediate action and get your loved ones the help they need.

    4. Becoming Aggressive

People that have dementia sometimes exhibit signs of aggression. The aggression is a direct result of being confused about who people are and what’s going on around them and an inability to communicate effectively.

If your loved one starts to become aggressive to you and others helping them, it’s time to start looking into assisted living where they can receive the support they need.

If your loved one needs assisted living care, including memory care assistance, the first question you need to ask is what is the cost of assisted living? The more care your loved one needs, the more expensive the cost.
