    In doing all you can to manage a business the right way for a long time, here are three keys to hone in on:

    1. Be smart with money- You can’t afford to be careless with money if you expect to have a business for many years. That said do all you can to avoid massive debt. Such debt tends to come in the form of credit cards, one too many small business loans and so on. By doing all you can to avoid major debt, you increase your odds of having a successful business. Also make it a point to get good deals when working with vendors. Last, take advantage of all the small business deductions you can get in owning your company.

    2. Have the right folks by you – Whether buying a startup or you have a company in place, your workers are critical. With that in mind, do your best to hire the right talent. From there, you want to be sure and plug them into the right positions. Too many bad hires can have a negative impact on your company over time. This can be everything from bad customer service to low workplace morale. When you put a special emphasis on those you hire, things tend to work out better. That said you will also need to make your company attractive to potential hires and those with you now. If too many people feel your business is not a good long-term fit for them, it could mean you end up with a lot of turnover.

    3. Promoting your business- Also make it a priority to do a good job of promoting your business to the public. Failing to do this can leave your sales and revenue numbers sluggish to say the least. In looking at your need to promote, what stands out about your business? Having a business that resonates with a large number of consumers can set you up for many good years. Use all the tools possible to get the word out about your brand. This means your website, social media pages, small business app and more. Also make it a point to be active and relevant in the local community. Doing this can improve the chances your business will be seen and heard. It can also spread some goodwill among members of the community.
