In Honour of Hat Boxes

I adore hat boxes. They’re so elegant and refined. They keep my hats protected, but they also remind me of days gone by and my grandmother’s glamourous hat boxes. I used to love to play dress up in her closet with her shoes, purses, and those amazing hats. Opening each box was magical.

They’re also one of my favourite decorating accessories. Whether vintage or new, masculine or feminine, clean or shabby, frugal or designer, they can bring the perfect feel into a room depending on which type of box you choose. Here are a few that I can picture in lovely rooms of all styles.

Sooo beautiful. I’m with you, I adore hat boxes. What could be more feminine, holding the secret of who-knows-what-deliciousness inside! My favorites above are photo 1, 3 and 4 I believe. So chic. So sophisticated. So yum.

i have a pale lilac plastic hatbox from the seventies that brings me oodles of joy in its kitchy wonderfulness. Love the selection featured here as well. Great eye for class and style. :)

These are lovely … I absolutely adore hat boxes too. I’m inspired to try and search for some lovely secondhand varieties at the local thrift stores.

I love hat boxes! The more vintage, the best! You can store your purses in them also if you don’t have a purse bag.
